How commissions affect our rankings — they don’t
Picks are chosen on the specifications beforeany affiliate link is attached. Where a product we’d recommend isn’t sold on Amazon, we link the brand-direct store — even when that link pays us nothing — because the point is to send you to the better buy. If a cheaper option on Amazon beats a pricier one that pays us more, the cheaper option wins the recommendation. Buyer-first beats commission, every time.
