This policy sets the standards every Knurl Knock page has to meet before it publishes. It exists so you know what we will and won’t do with the words “best,” “rated,” and “recommended.”
Accuracy
Getting the facts right is the entire job. We aim to publish specifications, prices, and claims that are correct as of the date shown on the page. Where the underlying data is uncertain, contested, or simply not published, we say so in plain language rather than smoothing it over. We would rather leave a cell blank and label it “not specified”than print a confident number we can’t stand behind.
Sourcing
Every spec we publish is tied to a source. In practice that means:
- Every specification is cited to the manufacturer— the product page, the spec sheet, the manual — or to a recognized standard such as the IPF or IWF bar specifications when compliance is stated.
- We do not fabricate numbers, ratings, or reviews.No invented tensile figures, no made-up star ratings, no fake review counts, no fictional testimonials. If we don’t have a real number, none appears.
- We do not claim hands-on testing we didn’t do. Our verdicts come from compiled specs and open comparison math, described in full in our methodology.
- Roundups and comparisons list their sources so a reader can retrace how we reached a conclusion.
Independence
Our recommendations answer to the reader, not to brands or to our own commissions.
- We accept no free products. No review units, loaners, or gifted gear enter the process.
- We accept no sponsored placements. No brand can pay to appear in a roundup, move up a ranking, or influence a verdict.
- Commissions never move a ranking. Picks are decided on the specs before any affiliate link is attached. If a cheaper option beats a pricier one that would pay us more, the cheaper option wins. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it openly. If you find an error in a spec, a price note, or a claim, email us at info@knurlknock.comand include the source if you can. We’ll verify it, correct the page, and note that a change was made. A correction improves the site; we treat every one as worth making.
Update cadence
We schedule maintenance so pages don’t drift out of date. Roundups are reviewed quarterly, and individual guides at least twice a year. When a page is meaningfully revised, we update its “last updated” date so you can judge how current it is at a glance.
Use of AI
We may use AI tools to help draft or organize content, but nothing publishes on autopilot. Every page is human-edited and spec-checkedagainst its sources before it goes live, and a person is accountable for the numbers and the recommendation. AI does not get the final say on a spec, a price, or a verdict — a human does.
